Sri Mauni Baba embarked on his Maun Brat journey on 20th March 1974, living in silence and sustaining only on fruits since then. He briefly broke his silence in 1978-79, mesmerizing the audience with his soulful bhajans. Engaged in Gayeetri Jap at various religious sites, he dedicated himself to spiritual practices, enduring 24-hour, 48-hour, and even 7-day Japs. Despite hardships, his determination remained unshaken. Influenced by his devout nature, late Parvati Bai devoted herself to serving Brahmachari Baba, deeply inspired by his religious activities. Responding to his father’s desire for marriage, Baba adopted the lifestyle of a Digamber Jain Sadhu, as advised by his Guru Shastri Jee, thereby evading matrimony. Progressing on his spiritual journey, Sri Devendra Baba journeyed from Haridwar to Sitamarhi, conducting yagnas and aiding the needy, exemplifying compassion and service. Transitioning to Rajhara Dalli and later to Mahamaya, he continued his ascetic practices, garnering admiration for his supernatural endeavors. Initiating Navrata in 1978, Mauni Baba commenced his Tapsya near Triveni, attracting devotees and revitalizing the nearby temple, amidst challenging yoga practices and natural hazards. Undeterred by adversity, he announced his temporary departure to Ujjain for Kumbh, promising to return soon, leaving behind emotional admirers. In Ujjain, he encountered Burfani Baba and altered his Tapasya, embracing the spiritual aura of the revered city known for its divine significance since ancient times. Ujjain, hailed as Sri Vishala, resonates with historical glory and spiritual resonance, immortalized by the legendary poet Kalidas and revered for its sanctity in Hindu mythology.
